The objectives of the event are:
- To raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
- To challenge yourself to achieve a distance that you are proud of.
- To enjoy yourself in the company of your team members and other entrants.
For the Coast and Cove Event 2018 we have arranged a challenge for every ability. No matter what your walking experience we have a challenge specifically aimed at you.
The idea of every distance is to challenge yourself, have fun and raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
This is a team event that will enable you to build a team, have fun with friends or renew old acquaintances.
Whatever your ability you and your team will have a weekend to remember
The challenges are as follows:
The ‘Extreme Challenge’ – Aimed at experienced walkers who like an extreme challenge
Entrance Fee £25 (2 day) and £15 (1 day) per team member (includes a commemorative tee-shirt)
2 Day – The Extreme 55 Mile Challenge (Saturday and Sunday)
1 Day – Rame Head and Back – 30 miles (Saturday)
1 Day – Polruan and Back – 25 miles (Sunday)
The ‘Challenge’ – Aimed at experienced walkers who like a challenge
Entrance Fee £25 (2 day) and £15 (1 day) per team member (includes transport and commemorative tee-shirt)
2 Day – Rame Head to Looe and Polruan to Looe – 27.5 miles (Saturday & Sunday)
1 Day – Rame Head to Looe – 15 miles (Saturday)
1 Day – Polruan to Looe 12.5 miles (Sunday)
The ‘Inspirational’ Challenge – Aimed at people who walk little and often and those who want/need to walk more and need to be inspired.
Entrance Fee £10 per team member (includes commemorative tee-shirt)
Multiple challenges walking to Seaton or Portwrinkle on Saturday and Talland or Polperro on Sunday.
The choices are:
Seaton – 4 Miles
Portwrinkle – 8 miles
Seaton (Return) – 8 miles
(transport provided as required)
Talland – 3.5miles
Polperro – 5 miles
Talland Return – 7 Miles
Polperro Return – 10 miles
You will therefore have a choice of distances of:
3.5 miles, 4 miles, 5 miles 7 miles, 8 miles and 10 miles on the ‘Inspirational Challenge’.
12.5 miles. 15 miles and 27,5 miles (two days) on the ‘Challenge’.
25 miles, 30 miles and 55 miles (two days) on the ‘Extreme Challenge’.
13 choices of between 3.5 miles and 55 miles. Make your choice and register.
The Family Day – £10 per family group – for Sunday morning Looe to Polperro walk. Ratio of at least one adult for every two children. You can either walk from Looe to Polperro and back (approx. 10 miles) or just walk from Looe to Polperro (approx. 5 miles) and get a boat, bus or taxi back.
The family fun day includes a treasure hunt.
The Armchair Challenge – If you can’t make the dates or don’t feel up to doing one of the walking challenges, but would like to support the cause, we would welcome any donation. Please Donate Here
You can enter a team by completing the Entry Form on this website, which will include team details and details of each team member (minimum of 2 people per team – no maximum).
In addition to having a great time on this beautiful coastline, we are raising money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance which is a life saver for those who live and visit Cornwall. There is no minimum level of sponsorship, but we would be very grateful if teams could raise a minimum of £100.
A certificate will be given to each participant who completes the Challenge that they entered.
Key Dates and Times
Entry forms and fees must be received by Saturday 2nd June 2018. Each team entered will receive an acknowledgement by email on entry.
Registration (Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June) at The Millpool Centre, West Looe.
Registration from 07:00 – 07:30am on each day for the Extreme Challenge. Extreme Challenge starts at 07:30 from The Millpool Car Park.
Registration from 07:45 – 08:15am on each day for the Challenge with Transport at 08:30 from the Millpool Car Park.
Registration from 08:45 – 09:15am on each day for the Inspirational Challenge. The Inspirational Challenge starts at 09:30am from the Millpool Car Park.
Registration from 09:30 – 10:00am on Sunday 17th June for the Family Fun Day. The Family Fun Day starts at 10:15am from the Millpool Car Park.

The Coast & Cove Challenge is organised by The Lions Club of Looe, which was set up in 1966 and was the first Lions Club in Cornwall. The Club is one of over 46,000 Lions Clubs in over 200 different countries throughout world, which serve their local communities and raise money for local, national and international charitable causes.
