The objectives of the event are:

  • To raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
  • To challenge yourself to achieve a distance that you are proud of.
  • To enjoy yourself in the company of your team members and other entrants.

For the Coast and Cove Event 2019 we have arranged a challenge for every ability, and new for 2019 we will have a half marathon. No matter what your walking experience we have a challenge specifically aimed at you.

The idea of every distance is to challenge yourself, have fun and raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Enter alone or as a group and have fun with friends or renew old acquaintances.

Whatever your ability you will have a weekend to remember.

Sponsored Walks as follows:

Saturday

  • 10 mile circular east of Looe route
  • 25 mile circular east of Looe route

Sunday

  • Festival Walk to Polperro (5 miles or 10 miles if you walk back)
  • Family Fun Day to Polperro (5 miles)
  • 13 mile circular west of Looe route

Walking Challenge – Walkers can walk one route (on Saturday or Sunday)  or two routes (one on Saturday and one on Sunday). The entrance fee is £15 per person for one days and £25 if entering both days.

Half Marathon – The longer of the two Sunday routes has been designed to be a half marathon and support will be given to entrants wishing to run the route. The entrance fee is £15 per person.

The Family Day/Festival Walk – £10 per family group – for Sunday morning Looe to Polperro walk. Ratio of at least one adult for every two children. You can either walk from Looe to Polperro and back (approx. 10 miles) or just walk from Looe to Polperro (approx. 5 miles), take in the festival atmosphere and get a boat, bus or taxi back. The family fun day includes a treasure hunt. The entry fee for individuals is £5.

The Armchair Challenge – If you can’t make the dates or don’t feel up to doing one of the walking challenges, but would like to support the cause, we would welcome any donation. Please Donate Here

In addition to having a great time on this beautiful coastline, we are raising money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance which is a life saver for those who live and visit Cornwall. There is no minimum level of sponsorship, but we would be very grateful if individuals/teams could raise what they can for this worthy cause.

A certificate will be given to each participant who completes the Challenge that they entered.

Entry forms and fees must be received by Saturday 1st June 2019. Each entrant will receive an acknowledgement by email on entry.

Saturday 25 mile walk, registration from 07:30 with the start at 08:00.

Saturday 10 mile walk, registration from 09:30 with the start at 10:00.

Sunday 1/2 Marathon, registration from 09:30 with the start at 10:00.

Sunday 13 mile walk, registration from 10:00 with the start at 10:30.

Sunday Family Fun Day, registration from 10:30 with the start at 11:00.

Sunday festival walk, registration from 10:30 with the start at 11:00.

The Club is one of over 46,000 Lions Clubs in over 200 different countries throughout world, which serve their local communities and raise money for local, national and international charitable causes.
